Start with the workspace.
Headful’s desktop core and Admin Utilities extension are open source under MIT. They work locally on your Mac; by default, your Salesforce data does not pass through Headful’s servers. The optional MCP Apps extension has a separate proprietary license and adds local agent setup and interactive interfaces for compatible clients. The Mac beta is currently free. Enabling an extension does not authenticate a Salesforce org or approve a write.
Inspect before enabling.
The initial beta uses bundled extensions. A public extension marketplace is not available. Install only software supplied through a trusted release path.
- Open Extensions in Headful.
- Inspect the installed extension’s identity, version, compatibility, license, settings, and contributed features.
- Enable it when you need its capabilities.
- Disable it or revoke its agent grants when you no longer want it active.
Use the public admin utilities.
Org shortcuts provide explicit workspace switching, supported Salesforce setup links, and per-org favorites. Record Inspector opens a lead from the core search or an object API name and record ID, then shows readable field labels, API names, types, and values. These are read-only tools: Salesforce permissions apply, and no utility operation grants additional access.
The SOQL workspace accepts read-only SELECT queries, suggests available objects and fields, and keeps saved queries and history with their original org. Results are bounded to a page of at most 500 loaded records; cancel an active request or export the loaded page as a local CSV. Schema Explorer describes available objects, fields, and relationships, prepares a selected-field starter query, and exports local Markdown field documentation.
Basic CLI diagnostics show supported limits, storage, recent jobs, and available debug logs. Missing permissions or unsupported CLI capabilities remain visible. Debug logs may contain CRM data; copy or share them only with that context in mind.
Make the shared header yours.
The header follows active extension contributions and settings. Disabling an extension removes its unavailable controls. Header preferences never change the target org, and changing the default org does not retarget saved workflows or prepared changes.
- Choose the explicit org target for the workspace. Its identity remains visible.
- Open Customize header and choose global defaults or an override for this workspace.
- Show or hide optional extension controls, move them into your preferred order, and save.
- Reset global defaults or remove the workspace override to inherit them again.
Know what is coming later.
This is a focused first utility slice, not a promise of complete Salesforce Inspector parity. Backups, snapshots, and reviewed restores are planned as a separate proprietary extension and have no implementation in the public Admin Utilities package. Bulk imports, advanced metadata operations, and broader orchestration remain future work. Check the current invitation for the capabilities in your build.
